New Religion: Kindness

check that At the end of his talk someone from the audience asked the Dalai Lama, “Why didn’t you fight back against the Chinese?” The Dalai Lama looked down, swung his feet just a bit, then looked back up at us and said with a gentle smile, “Well, war is obsolete, you know.” Then, after a few moments, his face grave, he said, “Of course the mind can rationalize fighting back … but the heart, the heart would never understand. Then you would be divided in yourself, the heart and the mind, and the war would be inside you.”

A prayer for my dad…..

Happy Birthday Dad, I love you! I miss you!

Lord, Shepherd my dad today
In green pastures let him lay
To still waters guide his way
Restoreth his soul, I pray

Lead him in the paths of right
Through the valley give him light
When he’s afraid ease his fright
With Thy rod and staff lend might

Prepare a table of spoil
Anointest his head with oil
Give to him a cup that’s royal
Let goodness follow his toil

And Thy mercy cease never
May he dwell in Thy house forever
This I ask in Jesus’ name,

Amen

Welcome! Flying Horse Sense is Born!

I decided to combine my love for horses and wisdom sayings into a sacred place where  inspirational quotes, music, poetry,  affirmations, art, dance, spiritual quotes, photography, books, and prayers will inspire and provoke deep soul reflection and spiritual growth!

Our site is named ” Flying Horse Sense”  after Pegasus

The Winged Horse of Greek Mythology

Pegasus:

(ancient Greek Πήγασος / Pegasos, Latin Pegasus)

Pegasus is one of the well-known mythological creatures in Greek myth, and assumes his share of fame and nobility beside the gods, and heroes of myth and legend.

In Greek mythology, Pegasus is a winged lightning creature fathered by Poseidon, god of the sea, and Medusa, a mortal, and priestess of Athena’s temple. Poseidon was captivated by the great beauty of Medusa, and the couple foolishly consummated their love in the sacred Temple of Athena, the goddess of war, and strategy.

Pegasus was also a friend to the nine Muses, and was instructed by Zeus to transport lightning and thunder from Mount Olympus.

Symbolism of Pegasus

The symbols of Pegasus varies throughout time. This horse-god was associated with power, flight, speed, glory, loyalty, bravery, courage, wealth, wisdom, knowledge, poetry, creative sources that inspired writers, and poets, pottery, solar myths, and spiritual energy that allowed access to the realm of the gods on Mount Olympus.

This site is dedicated to my dad, Othon George  Mantzavinos, a great, virtuous, honest, and principled man who taught me to follow my heart, to be honest no matter what the consequences.

He earned his living by working an honest, plain and simple life.

He was  an embodiment of purity and truthfulness.

I also discovered that he was a very compassionate and kind person and  that the most important thing that he had was us, his family.

Though he may never have said it out loud I know that he truly loved us

and was very proud of what we have become.

We are who we are now because we had a father like him.

He was very strict as a father but that’s only because he cared for us. To his friends he was a very kind person and was always ready to help. He always had a solution to every problem and had his ways of making things simple. He never asked anybody for help but he was a very generous philanthropic, compassionate man, and he never wanted to be acknowledged for anything he did.

When he helped he simply helped.

My father,  never broke his promise once , he stayed true to his word, he did what he said. He never stooped to any meanness or evil. He never liked false  flattery,  he stuck to his  principles  with whatever challenge would come his way.

He was a safe custodian of truth and justice.

EVERYONE  LOVED HIM! AND RESPECTED HIM!!.

He showed strength until the end and still had some enlightening words for me. I made some huge changes to my life and I owe it to my father’s encouragement, strength and tough love advice…

See Dad… I listened….it just took me a while…:)

I miss him and his amazing, wicked  sense of humor!

I am honored and humbled to be one of his daughters!!

I LOVE YOU DAD!

For the Glory of God….gives light….Jesus Christ

Father God, In the power of the Holy Spirit I ask that Your Light shine upon each of us.  Shine Your glory on the shadows of the enemy and the shadows of fear and intimidation. Father, Your light exposes the ugliness of his actions.  You are our strength and the truth….darkness is broken and evil can not hide.  I declare victory over indecision, strife, chaos and sickness.  Tear down the wall of frustration and obstacles of confusion.
Father God, ask healing of our minds with new understanding, our hearts with restoration and love, our eyes with clarity and vision of truth, ears to hear Your still small voice and helps us to be steadfast for glory!  We are nothing without You, we can not do it alone.  Bring a presence of openness and peace.  Father, we receive You and give authority over our lives.  I  His Holy name…..Amen!

2 Corinthians 4:6

6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.

“No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.”
